This is a wedding day I wish I could re-live over and over and over. It was so perfect.
First Let me gush about the venue! There were tons and tons of perfect photograph-able areas that i had a hard time choosing. The owners make their home available for the wedding party to get ready in and never have I photographed a more beautiful bathroom. Kaydee spent the morning at the salon surrounded by her girls and then my assistant and I met her in Ellsworth, Wisconsin at Jean Acres, the venue, where she got into her gown in the most amazing bathroom! The light! The colors! It was so perfect. I loved it so much!
She had a first look with her mom which was super sweet and emotional. She also lined all of her girls up so they could see her with all the wedding day elements together. To hear them all squeal in delight was absolutely adorable. Her dress was also a surprise not only to her groom, but also to her father and naturally she did a reveal with him as well. That was incredibly sweet; he said to her: "you are the spitting image of your mama." Which made a few of us tear up! Then it was her groom's turn! Mr. Tyler lined up in front of the site where they would later share their vows with his back to his bride. She came up behind him and the tenderhearted police officer saw his soon-to-be wife and tears welled in his eyes as he took her in! Super sweet moment; I LOVE when couples choose to do a first look - it gets to be about them and they can emote without a bunch of people watching, its sweet and always a highlight of the day.
After we took some time with Tyler and Kaydee getting portraits of the two of them we had their wedding party join us for portraits. The venue is along a gravel road and we decided it would be the perfect spot for their portraits with their crew and family. I love when wedding parties have chemistry and just have fun together. This group was definitely that - so supportive and thrilled for Tyler and Kaydee and cooperative. The couple also has a passion for bow hunting and we were sure to integrate that into their portraits. Everyone had a bow and we went out into a cornfield and took some photos there. I just loved they incorporated themselves into their wedding day.
When it was time for the ceremony the guests gathered around an arbor decorated in tulle and sunflowers situated under a perfectly picturesque willow tree. The bright blue skies were the perfect touch. Bridesmaids came down the aisle wearing ivory-colored shawls crocheted for them by a grandparent while holding beautiful sunflowers mixed with other whites and greens. The groomsmen wore jeans and boots from Red Wing Shoes as a nod to the couple's city of residence. Kaydee came down the aisle holding on to her dad's arm and locked eyes with her groom before they (along with many guests) shed some tears. The ceremony included a braiding ceremony as well as their own vows. Their vows were the perfect blend of sweet and silly - so honest.
Following the ceremony I stole the couple for some jitter-free portraits and got some casual shots as well as candids while their guests mingled and took in the rustic decor in the barn. I was even able to sneak them away at the start of the reception for some of my FAVORITE silhouette shots. These type of images are so impactful, I adore a well-executed silhouette. Their guest got to party and dance the night away at their reception. I am so grateful to Kaydee and Tyler for choosing me as their wedding photographer. I hope they enjoy the photos everyday and they can be reminded of how special their love is through the images.
