When most people think of a wedding, they imagine a church or banquet hall. But what about getting married among 100s of trees?
That's exactly what this couple did at Minnesota's Pinewood Event Center! Their summer wedding was full of neutral wedding decor that will have any 2020s bride swooning!
The bride and groom's wedding
Carly told me about things they love to do together and individually. "We both love to hunt, fish, shed hunt with our dog, go on evening walks and have ice cream dates," she said.
"Trevor likes coyote hunting, turkey hunting, shopping at Scheels and Fleet Farm. I like shopping (pretty much anywhere), cleaning and organizing, girls nights," she went on.
They both grew up in Minnesota and love the outdoors.
They decided to have their wedding at Pinewood, a beautiful spot among the trees in Minnesota.
They wanted their wedding to be a special and unique event that their guests would remember forever.
Why we love Pinewood for a Minnesota wedding
There are many reasons why we love Pinewood. First of all, it is a beautiful setting. The ceremony is held among thousand-year-old trees, and the reception is in a new building that is has stunning glass and tall ceilings.
Secondly, it is a very convenient location. It is only a short drive from the Twin Cities, and there are plenty of hotels nearby for out-of-town guests and a wonderful spot for couples searching for wedding photographers near me.
Another great thing is all the photo opportunitues! Indoors the space is bright and open with lots of windows and minimalistic decor. The amount of windows bring so much light and nature vibes right inside.
There is also a seperate ceremony space indoors set up just incase of bad weather - it is so reassuring to know the weather isn't going to ruin wedding day plans.
On a personal note there is a vendor room and it's awesome to have a special spot to sit and grab a quick bite to eat or charge batteries-literal or figurative!
Carly said she and Trevor chose it because "we both loved the trees!"
What their day was like from the perspective of a Minnesota wedding photographer
Prior to the big day the bride described the vibe for their wedding as "Simple, Elegant, Classy" to this Twin Cities wedding photographer. Her description made me so excited to take their wedding day photos.
My time with the happy couple started when they were getting ready and Carly and the girls were jamming out and finishing hair and makeup. I
t was fun taking photos of all the pretty details, the wedding dress she purchased from The Wedding Shoppe was perfection!
Carly and Trevor had a beautiful wedding among the trees at Minnesota's Pinewood. The setting was simply stunning and their guests were amazed by the natural beauty of the venue.
Carly and Trevor and friends played acoustic guitar and sing a song during their ceremony and it was really special.
After the ceremony, their guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d'oeuvres while listening to music and mingling inside and outside.
The reception was held inside on the property and it was decorated with edison lights, green and white florals, long harvest tables and candles.
The food was absolutely incredible and the dancing went on well into the night. It was truly a magical day that Carly and Trevor will never forget.
A Twin cities wedding photographer captures wedding day details
For their wedding day, the couple chose a beautiful spot among the trees at Pinewood. The ceremony took place in the early evening, with the sun behind the trees.
The bride wore a beautiful white dress and carried a bouquet of white flowers from Melana Sophia Floral.
The groom wore a Mens Wearhouse classic black suit, often favoring just the vest in the heat, with a boutonniere of white roses.
The large bridal party consisted of both friends and family and the couple's young son. They all bridesmaids were stunning in the pale pink gowns from David's Bridal.
The couple chose to exchange traditional vows and they were married by Jessica Daniles. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a dinner from LeFebvre's Custom Catering of chicken and potatoes, followed by wedding cake from Simply Sweet Bakery, a cheesecake bar and an open bar.
There were lots of yard games for guest to play outside under the string lights and surrounded by trees.
The three of us went adventuring around the 11 acre property a bit in the evening and took some photos.
Taking evening photos is one of my favorite times of the day! We get a chance to get some relaxed images of you in pretty light and you get a short break to be together.
After the special dances the DJ from Midwest Sound opened the dance floor where so many guests got their groove on! The night ended with a silent disco where guests wore headphones while rocking out the evening.
It was a beautiful day, and the couple will always remember their wedding among the trees at Minnesota's Pinewood.
